London 2015 Testimonials

UnGagged is… “an undisputed champion”, “best speakers, best attendees, best venue”. Who has said such fabulous things? Check out why everyone is raving about UnGagged London 2015…

UnGagged is the go to event for everyone keen on off-record conversations and high level networking. The speakers list itself is a testimonial for expertise. There are few events where the same type of industry people come together. And none where they speak more openly about search and how it really works.

Kaspar Szymanski and Fili Wiese - SearchBrothers

UnGagged’s 1st year was the most successful execution in a new location that I have ever seen. The team had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve and Craig and the rest of the staff have raised the bar for other conferences. The sceptics were many, and so many have been proved wrong… So a new conference is born. Yes, Saturday, Yes, Chatham house rules, and Yes, UnGagged, not just another conference, but a new concept that – won’t leave you gagging, just inspired, excited, with lots of actionable concepts and a lot of new friends and finds, as such is the nature of the bleeding edge of marketing, more questions and more testing to do!

Jonny Scott - CEO and Teaboy - Caliber

UnGagged has cut straight through to the heart of the conference scene, gaining instant recognition and esteem as a sophisticated, advanced and an unforgivingly no-nonsense event – and whilst the ‘what happens behind closed doors’ approach inevitably leads to whispers and undertones of black hat tactics, spam, hacking and other dark arts, it’s about much more then that – it’s about sharing.

As the lines between SEO, marketing, content, tech, PR and brand continue to blur, our jobs are getting harder. We have access to fewer and fewer viable tactics, and more and more reliance on strategies which depend upon disciplines, people, teams and functions which we’re not responsible for or experts in. This challenge will only grow, and so it’s imperative that we break down our own silos and share our best insights, experience and methods. Black hat, white hat, content, tech or anywhere in-between, it doesn’t matter how you label yourself. All that matters is that collectively, and collaboratively, we’re better. And that’s what UnGagged does really well – people from across every spectrum of digital marketing, together, learning from the best presenters and from each other, and taking away the bits which empower them to do better. Nobody cares what colour your hat is; they’re too busy becoming better marketers.

UnGagged London is undisputed champion of online marketing conferences. Best speakers, best attendees, best venue! I really wish to be there next year!

To say I was apprehensive about keynoting UnGagged London 2015 is a bit of an understatement. But rather than finding myself sitting amongst a pit of nefarious marketers, I found the conversations intelligent, forward thinking, and as civil as they were frank. Even the darker tactics explored encouraged an examination of why they worked instead of fail-safe, get-rich-quick-schemes.

I take very few international trips due to the hassle of spending ungodly amounts of time in airplanes pretending my ass can fit in a tiny seat, but it really was worth it to make it out to Ungagged London. The venue was gorgeous, the food was great, and then we have the people and their content. I got the chance to see brilliant speakers like Bastian Grimm, who taught me a thing or two on speed optimization — and I was able to catch up with hardcore SEOs in the UK area that I’ve only known over forums/twitter, where the conversations turn quickly to casino and adult SEO; it was certainly a treat to have been involved.

UnGagged London was actually the 2nd show of the new UnGagged conference franchise, masterminded by Craig and Damien, who among other things run the BlackHatWorld forum. Their first show in Las Vegas end of last year was a huge success, so they decided to bring UnGagged to London – great decision Unfortunately I could only be there for the first of the three days of UnGagged London, but I would have definitely loved to stay. The content was great, and since the motto is “ungagged” – everybody spoke freely and without fear of being quoted on the web – I just love conferences with a “don´t blog, don´t tweet, don´t tell” policy

I honor the code, so I don´t want to go into any details, but just the SearchBrothers Kas & Fili alone would have been worth the price of admission for me – they did a terrific session! But it weren’t only the speakers, the crowd was really great as well – probably a bit more people that engage in the black & dark arts in our industry, but definitely a high level of discussion during breaks and after the show! It was great hanging out with Joe, Irish Wonder, Judith, Loren (& family), Lukasz, Bastian, Derek, Aleyda and of course the one & only Jonny.

UnGagged will return to Las Vegas this November – check out the impressive line-up. The always entertaining Mr. Shoemoney Jeremy alongside Rae Hoffman – both with no limits and no censorship – UnGagged style – I bet these both sessions alone will be worth the trip!

Ungagged has been a pleasant surprise for me – the audience level is way above any typical SEO conference. For a speaker, it makes a huge difference as you don’t have to wonder if people would be familiar with the concepts you’re talking about. It has also been a great opportunity to catch up with my industry friends and one of the best organised events I’ve attended in a while. Thanks to Craig and the team for organising it!
