Hacking Google: From tracking users to hijacking PageRank

Session Description:

Tom is an experienced Technical SEO and a hobbyist security researcher. In this presentation, Tom will talk about some of the times these two passions have overlapped.

He will start with presenting a few tidbits he has found over the years, from identifying which social networks users are logged into, to oddities about how Googlebot works. He will then move on to how he hacked Google Search Console such that he could look up any manual penalty, and more recently developed a method of hijacking PageRank from established sites to rank brand new domains on 1st page results. He will explain the technical details you need to understand how these works, and hopes you’ll all come away with a desire to try some security research yourself.
