Is Voice Search Really Such A Big Deal?

Session Description:

“50% of all searches will be by voice by 2020” – comScore

We’ve all seen statistics like this.

They sound impressive, but do they hold up to any scrutiny? And even if people are talking to their devices more, so what? Is it a genuinely new commercial opportunity?

In this session, I will discuss findings from new consumer reports I have authored and use these points to highlight the limitations of voice-based interactions in delivering what consumers really want.

Perhaps ‘voice search’ isn’t ambitious enough.

I would argue it is just the beginning of a broader move towards ‘sensory search’. As a result, I will demonstrate in this presentation the strategies marketers should employ today to gain a real competitive – and commercial – advantage.

Key Takeaways

  • New data on consumer behaviours and preferences.
  • Insight into how people really use voice search.
