For more than 20 years Michelle has lived at the intersection of technology, marketing, and data. She is an accomplished marketing, technology, and media professional with deep experience as a digital marketing and content strategist, analyst, engineer, editor, writer, and speaker. A member of the search community since its beginnings in the late 90s, Michelle spent 12 years at Third Door Media, most recently serving as Editor in Chief for Search Engine Land, Marketing Land, and MarTech today while also SVP, Content & Marketing Technology.

Her tenure in that role delivered core audience growth of 12% year over year and included year over year audience acquisition growth of 60%. While at Third Door Media, Michelle also designed and coded the custom application that powers the back and front end of the SMX event series – from speaker submissions and communications, through agenda development and publishing, to the event Q&A and feedback that is part of the on-site event experience.

In mid-2018 Michelle re-opened the agency she founded 1999, BetaGirl. Businesses engage with BetaGirl Consulting (BGC) to conduct deep analysis, evaluate and improve their marketing technology platforms, and develop comprehensive, data-informed growth strategies and content marketing campaigns.
