Sarah Beeskow Blay
Sarah Beeskow Blay is the Director of Client Services for ShareASale.com. She joined ShareASale in 2005 and is responsible for providing strategic guidance and educational resources to Merchants & Affiliates that can be used to grow their accounts. Sarah served as emcee for Affiliate Summit West 2012 and has contributed to industry publications: FeedFront magazine and MarketingLand.com.
Prior to joining ShareASale Sarah spent seven years at the Michigan Association of Broadcasters as Director of Member Services and Broadcast Coordinator for the implementation of Michigan’s Amber Alert program. She holds a Bachelor degree in Interpersonal Communication and a Master degree in Organizational Communication from Michigan State University.
Who are you and what do you do?
Hi, I’m Sarah, I’m with ShareASale and I’m the Director of Client Services there; we’re an affiliate network.
What is an affiliate network for those who don’t know?
An affiliate network is actually a bridge between publishers and advertisers, or what we’d say retailers or brands, who might be looking for more exposure on the internet; through sites who would be looking to drive traffic to publishers.
You’ve had a booth here; what kind of people and what kind of conversation have you had at your booth?
I’ve had great conversations with people who are really looking for new ways that they can drive incremental value to their sites, and who are looking for additional opportunities that they could have on the web through traffic.
We were discussing earlier that it’s a relatively small conference, but you were saying that you’ve had a lot of actual great business out of it, because the people here have got great businesses.
Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I feel like that’s our biggest take away; that the folks who are who are here are ready to do business, they are looking to dive in with both feet, and they have a real thirst for learning and for knowledge. So sure, even though small, it’s mighty, in the sense that you have great connections and you really get to know everybody that’s here.
If you could summarise Ungaged in one sentence, what would it be?
I really like the message from a lot of the speakers, where they talked about providing relevancy and adding value; and that’s the same kind of message we like to give to our base as well. So I’d say it was nice to have that message reinforced.
What were some of the talks that you went to, and that you enjoyed?
I know we really enjoyed the Millennial talk, that was one that was really focused on, again, that relevance and value adding. We also listened to the keynotes., which were great too. So all around, they were all great sessions.
